Aim
This is a review site for a particular favoured food type of mine….the fried breakfast. I’ve had my fair share of these breakfasts with a great deal of varying success. The idea came after a football trip to Southampton. We were quite hung over on the Sunday but needed a breakfast for it’s hang over curing powers. We had to ask the receptionist at our hotel, that’s when the idea hit me. An app to show me local fried breakfast venues and a star rating to provide guidance to how good the breakfast is. With a lot of hard work from Shane Exley and myself we managed to release a site that we are both really proud of. We hope to create a full iPhone app for the site and have a few other great ideas in the pipeline.
Technical
This site is the third site to use my custom CodeIgnitor’esq framework. The framework is based on the MVC approach and key methods and classes can be used for multiple sites. The main contributor to the site is Google’s wonderful map API which is not only easy to work with but also very flexible. The site is JavaScript heavy and uses the library JQuery.
